Pensions Scheme Actuary - £60,000 - £90,000 pa plus benefits

The successful applicant will work with a wide range of trustee clients of varying scheme types and sizes, taking on responsibility for being the scheme actuary and lead contact. There are options to be involved with ongoing schemes and/or schemes going through a Pension Protection Fund Assessment.

The role is needed as a result of continued new business success. There is scope to become involved in business development or to purely focus on providing excellent service to existing clients.

 

Part Qualified/Recently Qualified Actuary - £25,000 - £55,000 pa plus benefits

The successful applicant will work with a wide range of trustee clients of varying scheme types and sizes, and ideally have experience of producing funding valuations, S179 valuations, calculating CETVs, FRS102 disclosures etc. There are also options to specialise in the PPF side of the business or systems development. Full study support would be provided and we would also welcome applicants who have decided not to continue with the actuarial exams.

 

Pension Scheme Accountant - £32,000 to £38,000 pa dependent on experience

This role will suit an experienced individual who has previously worked in a pension scheme accounting team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of statutory pension scheme Trustee Report and Accounts in line with the SORP
  • Reconciliation of investments and accounts
  • Preparation of all the necessary working papers and financial statements
  • Liaising with auditors and investment managers
  • Maintaining good relationship with clients
  • Providing assistance with cash books

Applicants will have:

  • Experience of Pension Scheme Accounts and Investment Accounting essential
  • Current working knowledge of SORP requirements
  • Ideally you will be studying towards or have obtained a recognised accountancy qualification (i.e. AAT, ACCA, CIMA), although experience gained through service would be considered
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment

 

Senior Pensions Administrators - £25,000 to £30,000 pa plus benefits

This role would suit a Senior Pensions Administrator who works well under pressure and is able to meet deadlines.

Duties

  • Carry out all required administration and PPF tasks for the pension schemes assigned to you as Lead Administrator, and ensure admin database is kept fully up to date
  • To ensure SASP tasks are completed on time as agreed in the project plan and in accordance with PPF KPI timescales
  • To complete administration work in accordance with agreed Scheme SLAs (as per contract) or QP internal timescales
  • To provide a friendly and efficient service to Members and their Beneficiaries, Trustees, TAP, PPF and other advisors
  • Ensure quality of work is accurate and is of a high standard
  • Assist with other work, e.g. SASP scheme take-on & Data Gap Analysis, trustee meetings/conference calls, preparing contracts, admin in other schemes or duties in other areas of the business
  • Liaise with PPF SDAs and Trustees to co-ordinate and ensure successful transfer of Scheme to PPF
  • Provide support to the Team Manager and the Team Director as and when required
  • Maintain Admin Work Record and PPF calendar and record appropriate activities on the Time Management System
  • Record member movements under Scheme that is administered on the monthly billing spreadsheet
  • Adhere to legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Comply with event reporting, data protection, security & money laundering procedures
  • Keep up to date with the latest requirements and procedures
  • Check other administrators' / senior administrators' work as and when required
  • Provide support / mentoring to administrators as and when required

 

Financial Services Trainee - £15,000 to £16,000 pa plus benefits

Are you considering a career in financial services but want to continue your education? Would you like to earn a salary at the same time as receiving full support for nationally recognised qualifications?

We are seeking numerate individuals who are keen to pursue a long-term career within the financial services industry.

Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word and be able to demonstrate sound organisational skills. A-Level Maths would be a distinct advantage for some of the roles available. However, applications are welcomed from anybody who can demonstrate an excellent level of numeracy.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with good attention to detail are essential
  • The ability to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines with the ability to prioritise work
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Ideally possess a strong Maths GCSE/A-Level
